MUSICA GEZZ 48' 46", CD GZ 05, 2000
Harmony Music Distribution, Borderland

"Baal Phagor"has expressed the jazz mood of G.Z.G., "Tempi Duri" the harder one. "Musica Gezz" is the synthesis of both this ways, is the "Manifesto" of Gezz Zero Grup music.
Melodies with the arrangement of a string trio, free improvisations, very hard rythmics, five years of reflections, recordings and mixing are some of the ingredients of this fourteen years band's CD. In "Musica Gezz" the group presents tracks made with new collaborations with the american cellist Tristan Honsinger and with the classical indian musicians Deobrat Mishra, Ikram Khan and Hanif Khan.

Cover notes by Luigi Onori (Musica Jazz magazine, Il Manifesto journal)
Carlo Gatteschi's Gezz Zero Grup music strikes straight to your heart and to your mind;
it will not be loved neither by who wants to be comforted whith the notes, nor by who has a preference for definite styles, like dressing confortable clothes whith no surprise.
It's a contemporaneity music, like the Ornette Coleman's Prime Time one, the John Zorn's Naked City one, the Steve Coleman's Five Elements one, it's a sonor expression that doesn't care of the styles, it joints sounds. In this dimension the designer/saxofonist Gatteschi finds in the cellist Tristan Honsinger an ideal partner, a tutelary deity, a "European Creative Music" teacher.
They have a tuning founded over opening ideas, risk, game, lack of balance sonor languages,
because, as Gatteschi wrote about his first "Musica Gezz" CD track, "The Shiva day is for me and for all the row man of the world, a very important day, where we think to what we really like to do, whith religious care, whith love and whith freedom."
